To promote collaboration and exchange with regional universities in theoretical computer science and communications, ITCSC will organize a Winter School for talented undergraduate students in January 2008. We will invite around 80 gifted undergraduate students from top universities in East Asia (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and India) and expose them to the exciting research work of members of the Institute.

Under the theme of theoretical computer science and communication science, professors from various departments of the Faculty of Engineering will give lectures (five lectures everyday, interspersed with discussions) to cover a wide spectrum of topics:

• Algorithms

• Communication theory

• Discrete optimization

• Network coding

• Wireless communications and networking
